A Novel Idea

Before he had a chance to contemplate, Melissa trust the knife deeply into Bozo's chest and through his heart. The blood spay hit Steve in the face and he jumped back and fell into the glass coffee table.

 

"Hey!" he yelled, his voice filled with shock, "I was going to do that!" "Tough cookies," she spat back, "You snooze, you lose." They both decided then was a good time for a Pop-Tart.

 

Steve started to wonder if this surreal evening would ever end, make sense, or just dissolve into some sort of dream he would wake up from. Looking from the drugged kitty to the dead clown, he tried to make sense of it all. Marisa watched him, licking the frosting from between the layers of the Pop Tart.

 

To calm their nerves, Steve and Monica decided to hop in their Prius and head down to Outback Steakhouse for Surf and Turf.

While they were away from the house, New York detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler arrived to investigate. A neighbor, Mrs. Kravitz, had heard the comotion with the gerbels and clown slaying and called the police.

 

Just to make a note here... Marisa's name keeps changing. why is that?

 

I think Marisa's name changes are the least of the problems with this story.

 

Who is Monica you ask, she had been Steve's go to person for each or Marisa's prior murders or any other thme she started nagging him about being late or whenever she invited Bozo the candy man over.

Monica, This time Marisa has gone to far. I am finally ready to leave here and we can be together at last.

***Contributor's note = OK, sorry I ruined the whole novel by unexpectedly introducing Monica. There needs to be a rule for people like me such as you can only add to the novel once every 48 hours or something.***

 

Finally, they got to the Outback Steakhouse. Remember that's where they were headed? The waitress came up to the them and said, "Our special today is Strawberry Pop-Tarts." Marisa and Steve looked at each other and gave each other a knowing grin.

 

After what seemed like an eternity, Steve and Marisa were served their meal. “Good, but not that good,†remarked Steve, all the while noting Marisa’s vacant stare as she gazed through now rain-specked restaurant window. Suddenly, a bright, blinding flash and the metallic scream of grinding metal made them both instinctively turn towards the parking spot that a moment earlier had contained their beloved Prius.

 

Andrew sighed as he pushed back from his computer. Just when he'd written another interesting plot twist, his mother had to call him for dinner; a dinner that would consist of the same rubbery chicken and over cooked broccoli.

To Andrew's surprise, as he climbed the basement stairs, he started to smell something... different.

 

As Andrew toped the basement stares, mother met him there and smiled. "I have a surprise for you and Jello tonight, but first, tell me about the new novel you have been working on. Have you thought of a title yet?

 

"Well," Andrew blushed, "it's based on the ancient Greek play "Oedipus Rex" and.." He became speechless when she suddenly

 

Andrew! Andrew! Steve called as he was trying to raise Andrew from the stupor he fell into from his fall. Marisa!- you have to call for help- NOW!

 

Andrew looked up. There was Steve kneeling over him. "What happened?" Andrew asked, groggily. "Dave knocked you over the head with a lead pipe," Steve explained. "Who's Dave?" asked Andrew.

 

"And how can you be here?" Andrew asked Steve. You're a character in my book! Andrew had hit his head pretty hard and now had a hard time with reality... or had something else happened?
