A rubbing noise only when gas engine is running

2012 Prius two. Recently my car has made a new noise after I brought back from the mechanic. This is a reason why I don't trust mechanics in general. Only when the gas engines running does it sound like either a squeal as if it was bearing or a rubbing noise coming from the engine as if I had playing card in bicycle spokes. I could be parked or rolling and it makes that noise if the gas engine is running. The noise emanates from the engine that is on the driver side. Any thoughts on what this could be?

 

A simple annual inspection. Nothing more. But since then I found out from the locals that this particular Monroe was very corrupt and will **** you every chance they can.

 

247k and mine is a Gen 2 as far as I know
