I’m replacing the ABS actuator on a 2008 Prius Touring. I ordered an OEM replacement that matches the VIN, 44510-47051. After removing the inverter and getting a good look, I see the original is 44510-47050. Most on Prius Chat are concerned with backward compatibility from the ‘051 part to the ‘050 version. I want to ensure forward compatibility of my '08 Prius to the ‘051 part. Also, the ‘051 part comes with a sub-part that looks to be a transistor with a heat sink terminating at a blue connector. (See below.) I don’t find this anywhere under the hood or on the ‘08 parts diagrams. Is this part optional, necessary, or even possible on the ‘08?

Thanks for any and all replies!

Can not say what it is but maybe your supplier gave you somebody else's order. No markings on that part?

Pretty sure that is the 'matched' resistor for the assembly.

Rumor has it that the only repercussion for not installing the matched resistor is the assembly being a bit louder when running....

It's nice that they included the resistor. But it mounts under the dash, so replacing it is a chunk of extra labor.

I need to replace my ABS assembly. Can you tell us where you sourced this part? It looks really nice. Most of the stuff I see on EBay looks pretty rough.
    Thanks!

I buy parts from this proven store Group1AutoParts. This is the exact ABS pump 44510-47051, you can see on the pictures
all online stores sell the part with the PN 44500-47141, but on pictures this part number and no part with 44510-47051 on lists, I checked
Also the part (04003-44347) as replacement under the extended warranty from Toyota repair bulletin T-SB-0032-16

Somewhere there is a thread where I posted a diagram showing the location, but I'm not finding that thread easily at the moment. If I remember right, after removing the top dash, it is pretty easy to see near the front edge of the windshield glass at the driver's side.

This video wasn't hard to find with a search on your part number, but shows it from below, without taking the dash off.

Did you install the resistor? What's the difference between them on the printed digits and the look on them?
