Hey everyone, I need help diagnosing this problem. I was traveling last Wednesday and four lights turned on on my dashboard: slip indicator, ABS, BRAKE, and Brake System. I pulled over but I realized I needed to get somewhere where I can read the codes.

The AutoZone Fixfinder got the following codes:
    - C0210 (Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal)
    - C1238 (Foreign Matter Is Attached On The Tip Of Right Rear Sensor)

Also, I noticed the Cruise Control is not working (light blinks when I turn it on). No ABS, no regen brake system.

I took my time yesterday to clean the sensor thoroughly and I used a multimeter to test it and it all seemed fine, but the codes did not disappear, even after disconnecting the 12v battery.

you might need to turn them off with a code reader, or they sometimes only go off after a certain amount of miles driven, or number of trips.

Is it possible that the problem was something else?

i suppose it could be a bad speed sensor or wiring issue

How did you do that? I though those sensors were pretty much pressed into the backs of the rear hub bearings.

Good question. I did the connector. If I wanted to check the actual sensor how do I do that?

All you do is change the hub assembly. The foreign matter attached error means the sensor is theoretically ok but a piece of metal (probably from the hub) is impacting the sensor.

It is fairly easy to change on the rear after the brakes are removed. The real issue is cheap aftermarket hubs may not last a year. Use OEM or Timken. Even used oem would be better than most aftermarket hubs.
