    Hi
I am new to this forum. May I please request if anyone could help out to know the reason for my Prius (2009) ABS lights on after a rear ended accident.

Last month, when I was waiting near a stop, another driver hit my car from behind, damaging my rear bumper. The other driver accepted the fault and my insurance agreed to get the bumper repaired by a local garage (not Toyota). When the vehicle was delivered a week later, a strange smell was evident and I took the car back to the same garage 2 days later. They felt it was due to car valeting. When I started to drive back, the car made a strange squeaking noise whilst I was still in the garage and ABS lights were on the dashboard. These ABS lights were not present either before accident or immediately after the repair. The garage mechanic did not know the reason and sent it to the local Toyota dealer. The dealer found the fault codes as c1365(accumulator pressure sensor) and c1659(brake system malfunction). The car was serviced with the same Toyota dealer 2 days prior to the accident and no fault was evident at that time.
The insurance team feels that the ABS lights fault is not related to the claim. The car was perfectly fine before the accident with no ABS fault at all. I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me regarding the cause for ABS fault and wanted to know if the ABS lights could come on after a rear ended accident. Thanks a lot for all your help.

I called the Toyota head office. They have asked me to submit the pictures of the accident and the details of the parts replaced which I have done today. They wouldn't guarantee when I could get a reply but felt they may not lead me with any new answers. I am really grateful JC91006 for all your suggestions.

I'm sure someone will chime in later with a pdf copy of the extended warranty. They are very helpful with that

A copy of the warranty extension can be found at Toyota Headquarters website, under home > forums > Toyota owners > warranty extensions

It's called Warranty Enhancement Program ZG1 and it offers Primary Coverage to the brake actuator assembly until December 31, 2017 for all 2004-2009 Prii and Secondary Coverage until 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Can't post a direct link until I have more posts

@pk1234, where in world are you? Is this Telford in the UK, near Birmingham? If so, it would be helpful to include UK in your location.

If it is so, then the UK Toyota dealer may be correct as I believe the ABS Actuator extended warranty is only offered in the US.

I am sorry if I didn't make this clear earlier. Dear dolj, I am in Telford, near Birmingham in the U.K. Thanks for the clarification
