@jerrymildred primed m8  My apologies OBD! My 2020 manual 3 weeks old. Thanks Jerry for the write up on the OBDII access! I was hoping to find a bluetooth that did not require a subscription. Holding out hope there's one out there but I do have a 32 bit computer!

That's the hot ticket right there. You can do anything the dealer can do that way. The bluetooth ones with phone app are nice, though, if you just want to do a quick check or customization, plus you can mount the phone on the dash and use it as a display for engine speed, coolant temperature and just about any other info you might want displayed as you drive. ... or you can just drive it, which is my usual recommendation.

It's too bad there isn't an Android or iOS version of Techstream. :D

bought mine pre-owned about 4 days ago. 2012 Jap import.

Had to google translate the instructions on manual.. tried holding down the A/C button and it worked. left it there for 30mins or so while charging. came back and ready to drive, the A/C was already switched off. but car is not as hot under the sun so kinda a good thing.

You can download English language manuals from Toyota GB here: My Toyota | Toyota UK
It is for the Europe/Aus/NZ model, so there will be some differences with the Japanese spec.

The remote aircon will only stay on for about 10 minutes, and can turn off earlier is the set temperature is reached or battery SOC is low.
