AC problem turns out to be evaporator core. Amazing - parts are about $200 but Labor is $1000.

    Where is the expansion valve in a Gen 2 Prius? in front of the fire wall ( in the engine bay) or behind the firewall?

    Pretty much right at the firewall ... on the side you were hoping I'd say it wasn't.
