While I was leaving it on Friday night after just replacing the spark plugs and full maintenance at an official dealership (finally happy the costs to get peace of mind we through), I come back Sunday afternoon to discover I have left the lights on, and the only thing that happens when I try to start it is the display flickers, dim to full bright, then flickers off. The only sound it makes, on or off, is the persistant low whining as if to say "you did this to me". The poor thing sounded like it barely locked the doors.
What do I do? I recall jumping unprofessionally it is dangerous to its health. Do I need to get it towed? (The one time I park forward, great)

Any specific one? Light was still on when I came back if that gives you a better idea of the drainage.
It's the 12V I need to boost, right?

All you need to do is get the computer to boot and then drive it to where you can replace your 12 volt battery. once the computer has booted your HV battery will recharge your 12 volt battery.

Whoa, I need to REPLACE my battery? It worked fine before it drained, I just left the light on. Is this something specific to priuses?

You can easily jump your Prius. There is a hot (+) post under the hood and use a clean ground (-). Look at you owners manual. The fact that you discharged your 12 VDC will shorten it's overall life, but unless it was at it's end already, you have life left in it. Make sure you leave it powered up for a good while before shutting off though.

Does this look sufficient? I don't know what I'm looking for.

    I would:

    1. Connect a 3~4 amp smart charger, let it run a complete charging cycle. (my preference is CTEK 4.3)
    2. Drive it a day or two, then assess with a electronic load tester. (my preference is Solar BA5)

    And go from there.

Thats the specificity I was looking for. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I have a new problem; Shipping from amazon will take until monday night, and since I'm parked behind someone (not family), I kinda of screwed up and need this fixed before monday morning.

I hate to be the "fix it for me" guy but I'm extremely slim on options as they close in 3 hours. Do any of these look like they'd work?
    Edit:
These seem different and more suitable to your specifications: Just most are under-amperage.

any will work. prius takes the smallest amount of power of any car to start.

or just ask someone for a jump, it aint hard, just be careful and don't cross polarize the terminals.

red to positive, black to negative. jumped car first, jump car second

hook up the reds, then the black to your car then black to a found on the donating car. any clean bolt, nut, etc. under the hood.

The Noco G3500 looks like the sweet-spot, 3.5 amp. Again, I'm partial to CTEK, the Noco reviews at CT are a little mixed, regarding durability. Automotive specialty stores are more likely to have CTEK. And/or tool stores: I bought my CTEK 4.3 at KMS tools, a general and automotive tool place in Van. An older CTEK 3.3 I got at Lordco Auto. What do you have in TO; is there Princess Auto for example?

I would not rush, this is something you can use for years. Take a snow day? Hey, we're actually having one, I think the first snow this year. I can't handle it, west coast wimp.

In your shoes, with time pressing, I might just go with plan A:

    1. Check for your battery on CT site (they have a compatible Motomaster, for around $200), set to your local store to see stock, and phone to verify and hold it.

    2. Jump start and get over there, with a 10 mm wrench, and a few washers (just in case, battery height is critical to the hold down bracket seating properly, it's a poor design).

    3. Swap batteries in their parking lot, bring in the old one for the core charge.

Then start shopping for charging/testing goodies, for next time.

I'd love to take a snow day: the person I'm parked behind due to poor parking availability cannot.
I'll eventually get a better one, but I need one to work now. I appreciate the specificity however, I'll look into it when I have more time.

Maybe he can jump start you, just with jumper cables? Be very careful with hook up, don't reverse leads.

Easiest place to shop is Amazon, you get what you want, but obviously not happening today.

I've gone through all that crap, getting caught flat-footed, buying stuff at the 11th hour. Then you get to where you're armed to the teeth, for something that never happens.

Geez the prices have really gone up on CTEK chargers. :(

    Maybe local purchase, sales? Ugh...

That’s what I did. Accidentally left on headlights so they couldn’t automatically shut off. Got a jump start, and then got it tested at the dealer, the next day after driving it 30 miles home. They found zero issues.

Driving your car a long distance after a major 12 V. battery discharge is probably the best thing you can do for it.
