Accord Hybrid drive - as good as Tesla

    My prius c was 20,700 with license and reg. I could buy two and replace two gas hungry cars instead of one, for less money than the accord. I look forward and hope battery cost and better electric motors will bring the cost down, for plug in cars.

    The car I drove wasn't a plugin. It was just a regular hybrid but with EV mode..... base price of ~28,000

    and with 4995 dealer markup over msrp? I think the whole car must be made with unobtanium. They must not want to sell many.:confused:

    I remember when the last Civic SI first came out in the new body style and I really wanted to get one. With dealer markup and add ons, it was selling for $33k...for a freaking Civic. Honda dealerships are out of their minds sometimes.

    I recently told a Ford dealer to go F himself when he tried to sell a Fiesta at 1000 more than tag. I also lectured him that its not acceptable wasting customer time promising "we have several of the base models in stock" and then they have none when I get there an hour later

    I am not sold on the Tesla yet and they are popping up quite a bit in my neck of the woods. Their show cars have horrible welds on them, makes we question everything else...

    As a side story, I passed Tesla's repair facility, which is around the corner from where I work, and there was a Volt sitting on the side of the building. Loaner? :p

    Nope, all their loaners are Teslas.
    I am sure that was either a tech, or someone who was there for a test drive.
    For many the Volt is a gateway to full BEVs.

    A quick Google Search of the VIN reveals that Pacific Honda in San Diego was trying to sell that one... And that's another dealership I'll be making sure to steer friends away from:

    My buddy works at a different Honda Dealership in OC, not sure if he has the best prices but if anyone is considering one of the Hondas feel free to send me a PM and I'll refer you. He seems to have a handful of hybrids and one plug-in in stock.
