    hi all.

i am about to order a second SG2, to add to the existing one in my car.

i have a few questions for those that use the SG2 (or more specifically, 2 of them)
can i use a regular cat 5 cable to link the 2 units ?
the reason i ask is i want one that's longer than the 100mm (4") one they offer.

and, secondly, im looking for the Xgauge commands to show the following...

    MG1 and MG2 temps
    Inverter temp
HV temperature (just an overall temp here, not per block if possible)

on my existing SG2 i monitor the following.
    HV amps
    HV Soc
    HV voltage
    Wtc Coolant temp.

on the second unit, i plan to monitor
    MG2 temp
    Inverter temp
    HV temp &
HV fan speed control. (i already have the command for this one)

i plan to set the HV fan to 5 or 6 constantly (esp in summer) as the PHEV kit probably keeps the HV battery warmer than if it weren't there, and also the increased EV use due to the PHEV is also more demanding than Toyota had planned for....

can someone please get me the commands, or point me at where i can find the commands for the second unit ?

    thanks in advance.

    Jason.

Try this thread. vincent1449p has a spreadsheet with the PID's you are looking for. As for the HV battery temp I monitor BT2 which is the middle sensor and typically the hottest. The battery fan speed BFM is triggered by hottest temp which is typically BT2.

Have you considered adding a scangauge e instead of a scangauge 2?

It will save you money, and be able to display most of the gauges you want.

You can use a standard Cat5 cable to link them. There is an Excel spreadsheet of Gen2 commands. Try a search here for the link.

    thanks for the info.

i have looked through the spreadsheets and various other sites, but i cant find all of the xgauges i want to run.
as im running PHEV, and using warp stealth mode a whole lot more than would be considered normal for a g2 prius, i want to monitor MG2 temp, and Inverter temps also.

those are the ones i have been unable to locate for the G2. (MG2 temp and inverter temp)
the other 2 i will be running if i do buy the second SG2 will be battery fan speed (4-6) and Buc for the HV temperature.

    the search continues.....

    Edit:

found these, but they are for the torque app.
does anyone know how to convert these to the SG2 command

    MG2 Inverter Temperature 21C3 1.8 * Z - 58
    MG2 Inv Temp 21C3 1.8 * AB - 58

    Hi Jason,

Have you considered using a 7" tablet pc and a Bluetooth obd2 adaptor and torque app, you can monitor all stuff like that on nice large colour gauges on the 7" or 10" tablet pc.

I use torque app with my Sammy galaxy s3 smart phone to regularly monitor the battery temps, fan speed mg1 and mg2 temps, soc, voltage, basically anything you want to monitor, and there are prius specific pids also for the torque app.

Have a read on it, it does work very well, and I picked up a Bluetooth obd2 adaptor for about $20

    Anthony.

Yeah. I had considered the torque app, but I would have to buy and mount a 7" droid tablet somewhere.

I stoop might go down that path.
But I already have one SG2, and a good idea of where I would mount a second one.

So I'll probably just end up going down that path.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Jason.
