Adding another remote to my Prius

    Hey I'm trying to add another remote to my 2005 Prius. I tried to do it without a scanner but couldn't because it was being rejected on the keyless entry but the transponder worked fine. Now I bought an XTool D8 and have no idea what to do. Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    First things first. If you're trying to add a fob to a Prius with SKS (Smart Key System aka keyless entry and start) you need a fob with a silver logo. The silver logo key also needs to be brand new as in never been added to any car before.

    If you have these things, can you use your Tool D8 to see how many keys are currently registered to the car?

    Oh it needs to be a new key... I have a used sliver key from another car that was scrapped in the past. I managed to get the transponder working but not the keyless entry.

    Correct, with a non-virgin fob that is all you can get working.
