Hi everyone. Today, I had the opportunity to take a look at a Prius, which was not getting into READY, because the ignition lights were not coming in at all.

The evaporator component of the AC system was replaced by an AC tech somewhere, and immediately he finished his job, all lights didn't cine in the dashboard, despite the 12V battery being fully charged.

We brought another battery, thinking it could be the battery. The same thing still happened. No ignition lights coming on.

    Things I have done:
    1. Checked all the fuses in the hood side, and the kick panel area at the driver side. They all checked OK.
    2. Checked the traction battery for the orange plug and was perfect.
    3. Have also asked the AC tech to undo the dashboard again, so we could see if there's any harnesses/connectors hr forgot to plug in.

What do you guys suspect could be the problem?
    Thanks for your various inputs.

Total dash disassembly to do the evaporator replacement = very high probability of leaving something disconnected or not fully connected.

That's what I told the AC tech when I was called to have a look at the car. He said he connected everything back, but I have told him he got to as a matter of fact, disassembled that dashboard again so we could have a recheck.

We just did the same thing! We got everything put all back together after swapping an evaporator from a parts car....and no start. We had headlights, brake lights, interior dome lights, but just nothing ignition, or dash display wise. It turned out we forgot to swap out the immobilizer ECU on the back side of the blower housing. We left the immobilizer ECU from the parts car on, never even thinking twice about it. Once we replaced to the correct ECU for the car, it started. One quick suggestion; if possible use Techstream with obd2 scanner and scan for the issue. It should get you closer to figuring out where the issue is. It was so frustrating for us DIY mechanics.
