I had a set of after market rims sold though a local Toyota dealer installed. The tpws came in about 15 miles from the dealership in the way home. The OEM tires were in the car, and I suspect they didn't reset or out in the 'b' set of tires in the tpws system. A week later I returned to the dealer and wait for 2 hours. They are unable to reset the tire pressure warning light. I'm advised to go across town to a local tire shop where the wheel package actually came from. The local tire shop was able to turn off the light but it returned again 15 miles later. I took my car in for the 5,000 mi service and mentioned that the tire light was still on. The dealer was able to reset the tire pressure light however it returned 15 miles later. I tried doing the owner-controlled tire setup and I didn't have any luck. I ended up driving the car 250 MI and it never synced. I paid extra to have the tpms installed and it was @ the dealer. Any thoughts ? It's a 25 mile drive each way to the dealer...
No replies, but I'll state that the solution was a set of new cloned tpms. They have worked with the exception of while driving past a certain area, the tpms light goes on and then goes off 20 to 30 minutes later. I'm only guessing bit is a high tension wire or radio interference causing this glitch.
Unfortunately, I don't know. Came from Town Fair Tire. The original ones didn't work but the clones do. The glitch happened again in the same spot on the highway. The tire light went off again when I restarted.
