    I drove my GEO sedan half way across the USA a couple of times. Hardly taking my life in my hands - just very noisy.

    Can they safely do 75 mph?

    They are fun cars but just dont have the snuff I need to be "safe" on the road.

    Well I had a four cylinder automatic that could go 120 km/h no problem so yes, 75 mph was doable. But to pass you had to drop it into 2nd gear sometimes. That wasn't a problem - it wouldn't even come close to redlining.
