    Hi - I have a Airbag light on and from this forum I connected terminals 4/13 and got the following codes;
3-3,3-7,5-2,5-3,5-4,5-5,5-6. I tried to reset and looks like 5-3 is not being cleared. I'm thinking clock spring because the re-circ,defrost, and mode buttons don't work on steering wheel. Just want to make sure I've checked everything before buying part.
I tried to find a reference to the codes -- I don't have a scanner that can read.
    Thanks in advance

See the Repair Manual (more info), under Supplemental Restraint System: Airbag System: Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart, which lists these two-digit DTCs:

13 – Front Airbag Sensor RH Circuit Malfunction
14 – Front Airbag Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction
21 – Driver Side - Side Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction
22 – Front Passenger Side - Side Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction
23 – Driver Side Rear Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction
24 – Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction
31 – Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction
32 – Occupant Classification System Malfunction
35 – Seat Position Airbag Sensor Circuit Malfunction
37 – Driver Side Seat Belt Buckle Switch Circuit Malfunction
43 – Passenger Airbag ON/OFF Indicator Circuit Malfunction
    51 – Driver Side Squib Circuit (※)
52 – Front Passenger Side Squib Circuit (※)
    53 – Driver Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit (※)
54 – Front Passenger Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit (※)
55 – Front Driver Side - Side Squib Circuit (※)
56 – Front Passenger Side - Side Squib Circuit (※)
57 – Driver Side Curtain Shield Squib Circuit (※)
58 – Front Passenger Side Curtain Shield Squib Circuit (※)
73 – Front Driver Side Pretensioner Squib Circuit (※)
74 – Front Passenger Side Pretensioner Squib Circuit (※)

Each two-digit DTC I’ve listed with (※) above is associated with several four-digit DTCs, which specify whether the detected problem in the circuit is a short, open, short to ground, or short to B+. The four-digit DTCs could be read with a Toyota Techstream diagnostic system or equivalent.

For each DTC, the Repair Manual has a troubleshooting procedure; for example, for DTC 53, it explains how to check these likely trouble areas:
    • Instrument panel wire
    • Spiral cable
    • Steering pad (Driver side squib 2nd step)
    • Center airbag sensor
As you may know, the Repair Manual gives safety instructions for avoiding serious personal injury and property damage while working on the SRS. For example, unless the manual directs otherwise, you should disconnect the negative (–) battery terminal and then wait at least 90 seconds before working on airbag/SRS parts or wiring. My previous posting about the SRS check wire and its purpose may also be of interest.
