Could baking soda potentially absorb some of the chemicals? I know it's used to absorb odors, but possibly the vapors of chemicals too?

As for cats vomiting, I have one that does it quite often due to a surgery on his digestive tract a few years ago. He used to run downstairs to the laminate floor more than he did it on the carpet. This was fine by me, because laminate was easier to clean than carpet. I've changed foods several times, and finally found one that he does pretty well keeping down. I also have a cat that looks like garfield (he's 24 pounds) and only throws up when he eats too quickly, which has happened twice in a little over 2 years.
