Al is being driven by the critics/polls. You actually believe that he’s a real Greenie when he is just now getting around to implementing most of these efforts?

Here's my take on this - take it or leave... but I hear from the moderates and the right that I shouldn't change my habits because Gore is a hypocrite... look I don't give a fu*cking dam* about trying to follow morales that someone else has shown me (yet they don't). I am going to continue on my path of changing my habits, and adapting better morales no matter what the person that told me does in his free time.

Think of it this way for your religious fraks... saying I won't do anything about global warming because Gore is a hypocrite is like saying I'm not gonna be Christian because Hastert has a thing for little boys.

And by the way - which Republican was it that got caught and went to prison or something from his own damn law?

Oh, yawn. Weak. He's been involved in environmental issues since the 1970's. He bought his current house in November 2002 ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2002Nov13.html )

Terrible he didn't immediately set to renovating when he had a few other issues on his mind (Iraq, 2004 presidential race).

Oh hell....yea.... I'll take my "stupid sign now..."
Dang I hate making stupid mistakes like that.

Ok, my bottom line on this...
If the right is correct and Gore is the biggest hypocrite of all time, if he's the biggest abuser of power, if he burns more fossil fuels than all of Delaware it doesn't really matter.

The science he's preaching is sound. The data is accurate. And whatever his sins we should still strive to do the right thing.

EXACTLY! Though I think it's more that the right needs someone on the left to scapegoat for their failures... (enters Al Gore).

Here's the problem with the right's argument (in terms of pure logic aside from the science of global warming)... logically speaking if they want to attack Al Gore for being a hypocrite... then to be logically sound one must accept global warming. In terms of logical debate... you can't choose to call on Gore as a hypocrite and deny global warming at the same time.

Now don't get me wrong... you have the right to remain stupid and say anything you want no matter how irrational (as it seems so many on the right pride themselves in doing)... but that obviously doesn't make it rational/logical.

No need for the foul language. It is degrading to all and reduces the veracity of your posts.

But I do commend you in studying for your Associates Degree. It's a great way to start. Continue your studies and if you make it through JC then go for a Bachelors Degree.

Not quite sure what you mean by "calling up the rents" (and I don't think I want to know) but as you quickly followed up do be independent and do achieve financial independence in a socially responsible way. By all means do not become involved with anything illegal or shady as future employers or associates will most likely hold that against you.

And, BTW, Porsche's are not all they are cracked up to be (and not quite sure why you would even think of purchasing one???). They are noisy, have limited interior space, get lousy gas mileage, and generally are overpriced for what you get. Stick with your Prius.

Here's an idea... global warming has been put against the scientific method plenty of times (in order for scientists to have deduce anything about it)... but I got a suggestion... and I'd like particularly the right to answer... in addition to global warming, why don't we put religious beliefs... specifically the Bible... up against the scientific method? What do you say to that?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(viking31 @ Feb 28 2007, 06:58 PM) </div>

Wow so you decided to come back for some more humiliation... I suggest everyone take a look at my previous post (I think 100 in this thread) so that we can come to a "consensus" about 31's posts. Associate's Degree? I laugh at that. If you want a chicken fight - let's hear what exactly your job and credentials are first... then I'll tell mine.

Viking31, I see your username down there - I'm waiting.

Oh and 31... I'll help you out with the younger generation's vocab since you're a little slow... rents is short for parents.

And PG04... the "data" from those websites has been discredited... but even still they place their "sound scientific logic" on their "authentic websites."

I'll help you out:

http://realclimate.org/index.php?s=water+v...chdatabase=site

Don't take my word for it... go to a real scientist's website (www.realclimate.org) and search water vapor/vapour.

Yep. This is an online forum... get used to it. The Bible uses plenty of curse words, too. Guess the biggest hypocrite has got to be your imaginary friend.

Anybody care to answer the question posed about applying the scientific method to the Bible and other religious texts such as the Quran? No takers?

Come on folks... how about some internal consistency? Let's use the scientific method to test out some of the right's religious beliefs. In terms of logic, don't point out the moral inconsistency when you refuse to do so for your views.

You're right pg04. I'm pretty pissed off that people are betrodden to holding irrational views... you are aware who's doing the most global warming denial? More of them are on the right. What really gets me is how dimwitted denialists can be... and also upon what attitudes the most ignorant choose to behold themselves to. It's quite strange how those who call themselves the most Christian, for God and people, about Jesus... are nothing but. Now I'm not saying some Democrats don't fall under my criticism... but some of the most vile (in terms of morals) and corrupt people are on the right.

This is obviously not true of everyone... but it's very easy to pick out some of them in this very thread. There's more to the world than your f'in Cross and your money. It's irrational to me how some on the right, with arms wide open, choose to happily degrade the only frakkin home you have. These people who I'm criticizing... what they lack is the notion of consequences. But who cares... you all like the terrorists can do whatever you want - but as long as you're saved in the aftelife none of this business... such as consequences... matters. "Nuke 'em all and let my imaginary friend sort 'em all out." "Israel will be wiped off the map." So I take on the prerogative to point these things out.

http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/02/falwell_to_arms.php

So... no answer yet... I'll ask again... anyone care to put the bible up to scientific scrutiny? Let's also add moral scrutiny to that...

And that the house is 10,000 square feet. I might pay more attention if instead of comparing it to the "average" bill they broke it down to kilowatt per square foot of Al Gore's bill and the average person's bill.

Not to mention the green offsets. The Gore's pay a lot to offset their carbon footprints. Something the 'average' person doesn't do at all.

Sorry. Not buying it. I'm sure the Libertarian think tank that swiftboated this is trying a pre-emptive strike in case Gore is thinking of running for President. Get a clue. The man is no longer interested in running for president.

It seem's politicians are addicted to resources...this isnt too much different from george bush's huge diesel trucks, or arnold's 10 hummers hipocrit or not i dont see either of them producing a documentary informing millions of people of what can happen and have them personally interprit what they need to change in their lives. It's like a 'no chewing gum in school rule' but the principal still chews gum... Obviously it is not good that he is having such high bills, and in his movies i could tell from the interiors of his cars that he was being escorted in escalades, mercedes, and cadillac(he was driving that one)...

If you read the rest of that line you'd see where I was going with that... that you can't say that and be rational - though anyone can say whatever the heck they want... just doesn't make it rational. That's what I said.

Whoa, let me get this straight. You still live with your parents??? Wow, sure had me fooled! I remember back in the day in college calling the 'Ole Man for a hundred bucks or so sometimes to cover rent, but I don't think he would have sprung for a Porsche! It's better they bought you a Prius instead. Save your money for other things.

(Sorry about not getting the "rents" thing. I'm pretty much just a "send" and "end" guy when comes to cell phones, no cell phones when I was young in high school but I did have a TI calculator with the red led's; it even did square roots!).

Does your mother or father know you spend time in chat rooms and not studying? You should be dating, or associating with your peers instead of spending your days away bickering with a bunch of OF's (that's older generation speak for "'ole farts" ;-)).

I, along with others in this thread, seem to be perplexed at your constant reference to various religious beliefs as it pertains to AGW. While various religious texts such as the Bible, Qur'an, Torah, and others provide moral and spiritual guidance for the various followers of such faiths, even the most fervent leaders of most conventional religions recognize that their faith should not be mixed with worldly science.

I, myself, am not a particularly religious person. I cannot speak for you or anyone else on this board regarding their religious beliefs and nor should you. But you will soon learn later on in life it is best not to try to argue or offend one's sensibilities when it comes to religion. Generally considered taboo in our society and even more so in much of the world.
