I saw this angled join spark plug socket online and was thinking if this could bypass the need to remove the wiper blade assembly to replace spark plugs on the gen3 Prius.

Maybe? Maybe not. I guess it would depend how wide the spark plug hole is and how far you can bend the joint away from the cover.

The coils will not fit out;).

It's VERY easy to remove the Wiper assembly and housing(?) assembly. 10-20 job.
Less than 30 if it's your first time. But very simple. Then you'll a lot of room with simple tools.

Angled adapters can be a life-saver for loosening things, but they make it harder to get a good feel when tightening anything slightly delicate like a spark plug, and a torque wrench is only accurate when it's lined up with the work.

Add me to the pile. Totally agree with every point made thus far. Plus, having the wiper tray out of the way makes it super easy (or at least a lot easier) to wipe up the mess from the notorious "timing chain cover leak".

Yeah, they need to put some sorta flexible elbow in the friggin' coil. :cautious:

This is the set I got btw, good deal, good quality:

Great store btw. When I was a kid I used to love cruising the basement of Army and Navy, all the surplus, camping gear, what have you. I get the same feeling in Princess Auto.
