Maybe it's a bandwidth issue. Are signed-in members given preferential access over anonymous surfers?

I upgraded to safari 4 which is much faster for all sites including priuschat till priuschat freezes. No other site I've visited has frozen yet. Oddlyl, and I know its a different browser, it works perfectly fine on my iphone.

IE works fine for PC forums its just slow.

Me too, but this is the only site I've had problems with.

I've got the same problem on 2 different macs with safari 4. If I wait long enough, it seems to eventually resolve. Quitting and restarting works.

I fixed my issues with IE by updating the firmware in my router. It has fixed the hangup/pauses in IE and has sped it up a fair bit. Safari 4 while still faster does simply hang up on priuschat only.

So, what's unique about PriusChat software that's not compatible with Safouri?

I did a little research on Apple's support forums and found people complaining about similar issues using Safari 4, not specific to PriusChat.com. I have occasionally had it hang on other sites too. Seems to happen after I've been on for a relatively long time, going back and forth between the new posts. If I wait long enough it almost always eventually resolves itself (goes to the correct page). Perhaps Safari has some sort of problem with caching overload in respect to a particular site. One person advocated specifying opendns in your settings (which I won't do), and unchecking "use IP6" (apparently because IP6 does an additional dns resolution query). Other suggestions, such as resetting safari, renewing DHCP, or clearing cache, did not work for me. Smarter people than me can try to figure this out. For now, I'm using Firefox 3.5 at home (on my macs), which by the way is quite snappy.

The wierd thing for me is that everything works fine when I'm signed in, and only glitches out when I'm browsing anonymously. Oh well.
