FM radio, simple standard gray screen, suddenly lost reception and nearly all channels are now static noise. I can get two channels with a strong signal, but they have static noise too. Do I need a new antenna base and amplifier assembly? Has anyone replaced it? I think I’ll probably have to pop the liner off the roof inside with pry tools and then connect to the plug to the existing wire harness. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Is there any history of replacing headlights in the car with LEDs? They can have that effect. Easy test in that case is whether your reception comes back when you turn the headlights off.

I replaced my v's antenna amplifier about ten years ago. It required removal of the right side hatch panel in my case in order to pull the headliner down at all. There are three versions depending on the car options. A hatchback probably uses different part numbers due to cable length.

Now Toyota has a tool to test the system.
