I know the pip has incentives, but wondering if anything special for regular hatchbacks.

Best way to find out is to visit local dealers' websites.

I thought incentives from toyota would be global... At least from state to state?

There were no incentives when I bought mine last month. They would not budge on the sticker price, but gave me the most on my trade, so it came out about even. They had some finance deals but nothing earth shaking. The cars are selling so well in my area they do not feel the need to discount them yet.

So if there are no incentives, seems it would be best to buy a pip from west Virginia or do you have live there?

I have found edmunds.com to be very accurate with the national monthy incentives from mst manufactures. Here is the 2012 Prius II

2012 Toyota Prius Incentives and Rebates

$1,000 dealer cash (can't use with financing or lease special) can use with non Toyota financing or cash purchase

    $500 Military cash

    $500 Lease cash

    0% financing to 48 months .9% to 60

There is also a grat calculator for pricing in your area based on options. kBB.com is alo useful. Hope it helps! We just leased a 2012 last month and the local Raleigh, NC dealership came way down in selling price. The 2013 has no cash incentives from Toyota is month.

You have to put in your zip code on edmunds.com and it will tell you what is available in your area. Where I live we only have the $500 Military Cash (according to edmunds).

In the paper there are some really good deals being offered on 2012's.

Aside from mentioned military deals and 1.9% financing on Priuses I think just in general it's not too hard to find deals on 2012's they're trying to get off teh lot for the 2013's.

I spent quite a bit of time getting quotes and visiting dealerships in the Chicago area and ended up biting on a black 2012 Prius II for $22.8k before TTL. Got a $1k trade-in for my '98 Nissan 200SX with 247k on the dash so I felt like it was a decent deal. It's very easy nowadays to request quotes from dealers all via email, offer counter offers, and narrow it down to 2, max 3 dealerships to finalize a deal. At least it was in my case.

    Good luck!

Got our 2012 (5) for "invoice" from a dealer in Staunton Virginia. Saved about 2K on sticker. They had 12 on the lot last week, along with several "C's and a "V". No deals on those. No PIPs to be found. TMCC financing not so great, but local finance at bank around 2.5%.

Hey there Neohybrid, I got my '12 (2) from the Staunton dealer on Monday. We got the "you pay what we pay" deal. That is only available on the 2012 models they have.

Congrats! Looks like they only have about 7 or 8 of them left at this point - they got a '13 in yesterday. Had a great "low pressure/no pressure" experience with those guys. I'll likely go back there for the next one.
