    i haven't seen the tail lights in full action, lights/brakes/turn signals. just lights at night. i think they're fabulous, and i hope they keep improving them, and not do away with them.

    Like some Mustangs in to out. I think that might be disallowed by the vehicle code, and thus aftermarket only.

    Current Mustang turn signals still animate AFAIK. If vehicle code disallowed, aftermarket would not be allowed on the road either.

    I've seen both on Mustangs, and aftermarket parts are what allows rolling coal.

    Animation is allowed, but there's a minimum size for the segments, so it has to be large sections, not a smoothly animated array.

    The latest Audi A4 and A6 models have sweeping indicators but they also come with regular blinking ones so I think this is Audi's way of getting around the legislation. - by offering the backup blinking version to meet the code.
