How would it, you have the car off when you dump the radiator.

I was under the impression that the CHRS pump could cycle when car is off - hence the need to disconnect? Maybe I'm getting this mixed up with some other pump.

It cycles as part of the start up and shut down but not while the car is off. May be you're thinking of the ABS actuator/accumulator pump?

Lol your kind of OCD aren’t you. Just put it on the Ramps and dump the rad.
    That’s it.

It does not make a mess if you use a wide mouth oil change bucket.

Then dump it in the shower so an animal can’t get to it.

The inverter is just as easy. That uses TOYOTA LLC Also so buy 3 gallons of that for both jobs.

I think the rad takes 1.5 gallons. Inverter was more because when you dump the inverter loop you get quite a bit out.

I always used a bottle of Redline Water wetter in the inverter loop and after the third rad dump one in there too. Great product. I use that in all my cars.

He's apparently using voice-recognition. I can't follow it either; well with enough time and effort yeah, but...

My Prius was actually totaled a few years back. I ended up buying it back from my insurance and repairing it. A dump truck rode over the front drivers corner of my car - amazingly the damage was almost 100% superficial. One of my concerns at the time was that the CHRS Tank was partially crumpled/dented....however, no leakage was evident. I immediately bought a used replacement tank with pump but ultimately decided to take a chance and and roll with the original tank.

Well, its been 3+ years and no issues. I've still got the replacement tank sitting in a box. My dilemma has been whether I should replace the tank/pump and do the full engine coolant purge. I figure after at least 2 years procrastinating it's time to finally do something - either have an experienced mechanic do the complete change or, after reading your method, just go ahead and leave the original tank in the car and just drain/refill the radiator.

I hadn't heard of that Redline Water wetter - I'll look into that too.

This is the thread that references the pump activating when car is off - but reading it again I think maybe it just cycles immediately at power down. Edthefox can likely clarify.

If that's true, it's still not really an excuse. How hard is it to say comma, period, and new paragraph?
