When I traded in my first Prius for the PIP I asked for them to install Auto start.. They said No
But offered to give me another ONSTAR Mirror like I had in the first Prius.. Thisd was an incentive to get me to trade up to the 2013.. But I still wish I had gotten the Auto Start for these cold winter mornings. Heated seats are ok but they only warm my butt..A heated steering wheel would also be nice. Oh the salesmen told me Auto Start in a PIP could start a fire ..Was he putting me on or what?

If you live by only one rule in your entire life...this is it...ready?

Don't ever listen to anything a car salesman says. Some of the most unethical, slimy, and just plain dumb folk on the planet. Sorry, it's a rant I know. But there is no end to the stuff these slime balls make up.

My dealer installed a top of the line car starter, and they stand behind it.

Volkswagen told me a remote starter would void the warranty. One reason I headed for the door and bought a Prius.

Just Google "CompuStar" for all the details. Better than I could do.

I leave it on Auto at about room temp. It's usually good to go after running 10-15 mins.

Tip: never run your defroster on high when the windshield is cold. It spreads the cracks all over the windshield.
