Anyone know of any 2G Prius in a junkyard?

    If anyone happens to know of any 2G Prius in a junkyard, please pass the contact info for the yard to this thread, thanks.

    I have some items I want from a totalled car, they're WAY too expensive new, or not available at all. I'm sure there are other people here that would be interested in spare parts to play with.

    Unfortunately, that doesn't help, as most of the Prius parts I want won't have a heading in their Search. I had to choose "Dash Misc Electrical", and it came up with zero matches.

    That's why I need to know of a yard actually has a Prius. Then I can call to ask if they have a specific part. Ideally, though, a member would live nearby and be able to carefully extract the part and ship it, if it isn't within 200 miles of me.

    Last time I contacted them to see if they had something, they did, but would only sell the entire dash wiring harness, even though I just needed a few plugs. I can't blame them for that if the harness was intact, but it was more than I'd consider spending to get a few plugs.

    How did someone total it that badly? Didn't the other driver see the tacky "Hybrid, A Step Into the Future" decals?

    Whew, hope I'm never in anything that bad. But it does make me feel better knowing that even after such a nasty accident the occupant areas looked pretty well intact....

    Just saw a 2 generation that was totaled on the freeway in the Dublin, CA area yesterday. It was hit from behind, hard - pushed the rear end all the way to the rear of the front seats. Do not know anything else other than that.

    Ouch!
    I just saw a Silver this morning on I-680, north of Dublin, that was in the middle of a 3-car accident. The front and rear was pretty smashed, but it looked like all three drivers were OK and waiting for authorities.
    My heart sank when I saw it. :cry:
    I hope they're not out to get us!

    After having my Prius for all of 12 hours, someone walking by fell into it and broke the side view mirror off before running away. Looks like I'll be trying to find one in a salvage yard while my insurance company sorts everything out...
