Dang chinalfr2 you just nipped me out of 3rd place! Be back next week to resume the battle or maybe I'll just leave the puter on while I'm basking in the Cabo sun!

I'm going on vacation next week as well. When I return, I will have fallen to 2nd, maybe 3rd or 4th.

Oh well, I peddled the machine as hard as I could these past many months. Need a break.

I never would have found mine. InCrease says: project: 2608, "Protein"
But the list you linked to says merely: P2608.

I found it only by searching for a WU listed as being worth 1385 points, as that's what InCrease tells me my current WU is worth.

I'm in first place! I would like to thank the academy, err I mean I would like to thank bwiederholt for slowing down a bit so that I could get to experience this prestigious honors. I would also like to thank MolangiNaeda and Wildkow for slowing down enough to let me hold first place before they breeze on by with their supercomputers.

Got back from Cabo last night just to find that my fast folding machine shutdown the SMP client a short while after I left. Now Trevor, with a 8K+ week, is in first place and "Mi Dios" I see that Molang/chinalfr2 had a 19K+ week!

Daniel seems to have ironed out the problems with his Mac and posted the second most points for this week. Congratulations Daniel that’s impressive. The PS3 dudes continue to contribute 4-6.4K+ points a week also! What happened to bigdaddy? Come back into the fold daddy we miss and need you!

I'm going to have to go out and troll for more machines to put the client on. For you folks that help friends, family or others with their computer problems and spend hours on their machines getting little or no money for your efforts I make it a condition that they put the Folding@Home client on their machine if they want my help. Once I explain what it does they don’t have a problem with the non-nonsense text client and some have even asked for the GUI client because it has the cool screen saver. :D

There are some that have not posted any points in the last week but don’t give up or get discouraged! Every Work Unit (WU) completed brings scientist closer to a cure for some horrible diseases. Your unit may not be the answer but it maybe the key part of the answer, so if you haven’t folded lately turn your machine back on or restart the client, and get that warm fuzzy feeling back, Pweaseeeee?

    Thank you all. . .

The problem was the GUI client. It was slow, it was not using the resources of my machine, and it was refusing to give up CPU cycles on the rare occasions when I ran a processor-intensive application.

On the advice of folks on the F@H chat board, I installed InCrease, which installs and governs the SMP client, and my point output went from about 200 points per 4.25 days, to about 1200 points every 30 hours or so. And it pauses when I tell it to pause, and it quits when I tell it to quit, neither of which the GUI client did.

Of course, having a Core-Duo iMac doesn't hurt.

And all along I thought you were just being nice by letting me take first place for a day.

Hopefully all this friendly rivalry leads to a cure for some disease (or leads to a newegg order for an ATI card).

Just finish folding on the SMP client for 1385 point. Should be in 1st place after the stat updated. My ps2+ps1 started to work hard. As for the beast, I have to tame it down a bit due to the heat.

FYI, not too long ago we passed a team called the Squidlets! Also it looks like we have passed Harvard University and this month we will post more than 765 WU's which is an average of more than 24 WU's per day! This means priuschat folders are submitting one WU every hour of every day 24/7 and that is one sweet stat! We also posted 271,275 points for an average of 8,750 pts per day during the month of May and both of these numbers are growing each day as the last five days indicate an average of well over 10K per day! Our first month of Folding, March, netted 320 WU's and 74,121 pts by April we increased the WU's by 631 WU's or 97% and points by 179,550 or 142%. Now May has basically ended and we have 765 WU's 21% increase and 271,275 points a 51% increase. Next month I think we can hit a 1000+ WU's and maybe 400K+ points! Our position according to Stanford Univ. is 805th out of 68,124 teams and by the end of next month I think we will be close to breaking into the top 500 teams!

    Well done Priuschat! :D

or two Crossfired ATI X1950XTX's? That would be sweet but alas I have bought Nvidia MoBo's and Graphics Cards and it doesn't appear that they will release a client for my stuff anytime soon if ever. :(

    Wildkow

p.s. BTW your rein as #1 is about to end as chinalfr2's monster machine is about to pass you by and now after just 4 or 5 days of inactivity by my machine he has a 10K+ lead and I don't know how long it will take to catch him if ever.

I agree with Daniel, thanks to Wildkow for telling us about this cool project. I know I have been bitten by the F@H bug and am always trying to increase my points (and Priuschat's). I used to do Seti@home.. and I still do have 1 computer that works on BOINC projects. But I am trying to get more computers folding for us so we can be in the top 500 teams! Beware... I have brought a few more computers online folding for me (us) so hopefully I can do better than my current 22nd place (watch out nerfer and cobra). Cool to think that I am helping science with my little render farm.

WOW! Although I'm 13th on the team as of this writing, I am 3rd in average points per 24/hours. And that figure is pulled way down by the time I was using the GUI client. Neato.

I need to make a list of names on the folding team and match them to names here on priuschat. For some reason I keep getting the two mixed up. I don't want to hear anything about "Senior Moments" thank you! ;) :p
