If you have to pour in additional additives to your oil your using some cheap nice person oil.

I like using the Redline as it has some high performance stuff in it at the right levels...no guessing and no dumping extra stuff in. How do you know the engine is liking it unless you do a UOA?
With TAN. You could be diluting the zddp/phosphorus pack in it and not even know it by using an additive. Zddp is important given the engine has solids.

I'm not trying to promote MoS here, but you seriously don't need to add it in very large amounts. Over at bitog most users only add a full 300mL bottle for their first dose, and then after that only about 1/3 to 1/2 that amount as a "maintenance dose" on subsequent oil changes.

Even if the oil that the suspension is carried in contained no other additives at all, the 100 to 150 ml of the stuff that you need to add each oil change is not going to significantly dilute the existing detergent pack. As it is however, the carrier oil is good quality motor oil with a conventional add-pack anyway, so that point is completely moot in my opinion. What, we're worried about 200 to 300 ppm moly significantly displacing our zinc and other additives? That's the equivalent of removing about a quarter of a teaspoon of oil from your sump.

Ok I hate to be the fun police, but I bought liqui-moly off Amazon about a year ago and threw it into the prius and my truck (at the time). I didn't notice any engine noise or performance difference in either vehicle except a slight decrease in mpgs in the truck. I think I still have a little left in the can in the shed.....

No, I've come to the conclusion all quality oils will work with the prius. Don't need to get the best

Last oil change I tried their 0W-40 in our Porsche, but along with 1.9 qts of Lucas Oil Stop Leak, so about 7.6 qts. Since it's typically a no-no to mix additives or oils, I ruined that test on difference with Mobil 1 FS 0W-40, which is the brand recommended by Porsche.

I did keep the empty 5L container, because supposedly FCP Euro allows you to ship the used oil back (on your dime) for a free replacement (free shipping if qualifying amount, >$49, I just checked)...

Is Liqui Moly ILSAC rated? I thought that is the only requirement for Toyota.

Also the new SP and GF-6 (I forget A or B), decrease Ca and increase Mg to prevent LSPI, would this help prevent engine knock in the Prius???

FCP Euro will let you get free oil if you ship them the used oil back? So if you buy $49 worth of goods, you keep getting free oil?

Yup. You have to pay the shipping back, but I don't think they have a requirement which, ie USPS, UPS, or FedEx.

I love those guys at FCP Euro, great tutorial videos and now I know I can return oil. What a benefit. But can't imagine the shipping cost from CA to CT.

I have the oil filter that I bought from them. Not gonna throw it out, gonna try...

(Plus the empty $20/L Motul DCT fluid bottles that I used).

'13 Panamera GTS, replaced (RIP) '17 Alfa Romeo Giulia. Finally have it stable (I'm the famous soda can coolant pipe fix guy on 6speedonline ). Wife is finally enjoying it as I use the Clarity to drop and pick up our son....
