Anyone using AutoEnginuity ODBII scanner?

Your product looks like it should be useful on my 2004 Prius. In particular can it read the parameters of the Hybrid system?
1. Traction Battery module voltages.
This is the 200 volt 6.5 amp hour battery in the Hybrid system.
There are a number of 7.2 volt modules and the important data is max/min voltages across the modules.
2. Temperatures
a. Inverter coolant
b. Engine coolant
c. Motors (MG1, MG2)
I assume that it can read the standard parameters (Engine RPM, Torque, HP, …), but in the later model Toyotas can it read/reset the Tire Pressure sensors.

Just a note to avoid potential confusion.

Mk1 Prius over here (and in the UK, NZ, rest of world?) refers to the NHW10 model (Japanese imports), not the NHW11 model which the US refers to as Mk1. They may look the same but there are huge technical differences.

 

I'm 90% sure Bob only ever had a NHW11 and ZVW30.

My bad, I somehow had it in my mind that Bob traded up from a Gen II to a III. I know he still has a I and a III -- and no small amount of AutoEnginuity frustration!

 

Hi forum folks.
I am new here ...really I dropped in to find an affordable OBDII II/CAN scanner I can use to avoid the 25 mile trip to my dealer. The "maint req'd' light has been on for some time. I have not noticed any prob. I would like to do what ever service I am capable of...for example, I decided to change my own headlamp bulbs rather than pay dealership $175 per side.I have an Actron cp9125 from a past car.... but it does not seem to work....or do anything useful.

Suggestions for weekend warrior laptop connector/and/or software freeware shareware/affordableware??????

 

Maint Reqd is the oil change reminder light. Have you changed your oil? Reset the light following instructions such as

I think you would have more fun with PriiDash than AutoEnginuity

 

I second the oil change indicator for the indicator light.

That was my first look at PriiDash which certainly looks fun but doesn't appear to be a practical maintenance tool. I do like the AutoEnginuity tool and use it a lot. Certainly has paid for itself several times over. You would of course need the enhanced Toyota package as well for in depth diagnostics.

 

AutoEnginuity is good for diagnosing problems (reading trouble codes) but so so in data logging (can only talk to one ECU at a time).

PriiDash is good for dash display and data logging but can't read codes (yet, until I have the need to). Torque is also popular for this purpose.

 

An alternative is Torque app on Android device with bluetooth. It is portable, practical, cordless, color touch screen, logging and you can pull hybrid specific information with custom PIDs as well.

 

Has anyone tried initializing the linear solenoid and bleeding the brakes (actuator) on a 2005 Prius with Autoenginuty (Scantool 8.3 and below)?

I am the proud owner of the latest autoenginuity st06 hardware with enhanced toyota interface

BUT

Its not conecting? does the automatic detect feature really work? I tried it & also the CAN settings, BUT i am not having ANY luck!

Any pointers?

I have plugged in both dongle & usb-dlc connector, installed software activated my enhancement, BUT still no joy.

All I am getting is communication link error?

Any advisors?

 

I had a similar problem with mine. It turned out the the wire in the USB connector broke. I cut the connector off, and spliced on a new one, problem fixed.

 

HHHmmm, I also tried another USB cable, had same problem...

I hope your not talikng about the dongle, or usb to dlc connector???

 

The AutoEnginuity OBDII connector module has a black cable coming out of it that terminates in a male USB-A connector. A wire in that connector had broken.

 

Was you able to do linear solenoids actuation? & clear your c1252 code?

I have spoken to Autoenginuity & Am going to try another replacement adapter..

 

I had to replace the actuator to fix it
