While that is possible, the same text would support the statement that if it is out of expected by the GM tech, it will be replaced.
Warrantees are typically written as vaguely as possible.
Tesla's own warrantee, as I recall, doesn't make any claims about replacements due to normal degradation.

What it comes down to is, how much do you trust the company?

With the track record of the Volt batteries, I'd be surprised with problems with the Bolt batteries.

It means that some of GM's decisions in regard to the Bolt, or any plug in, can be explained by having to keep their independent dealers happy.

why, do they charge customers at a higher rate than mfg.'s will pay?

if they don't get some warranty work with bolt, they aren't going to get much else.

And thus why some of GM's decisions that would seem to hamper the Bolt and other BEVs might be to appease those dealers.

There's plenty of vehicles out there to keep the dealers busy.

Plenty of vehicles - For now ~
    See post #36
What about down the road ... If such a scenario plays out, where's all the repair work going to be? Wouldn't it behoove the industry to be proactive? Start now, & look out for its best & most profitable interests? just a thought ...

GM not investing in CCS infrastructure. Having the dealerships that will sell the Bolt install it is mostly a means to an end in helping to sell the car, but only adding to the network, if these chargers are publicly available, at Chevy dealers isn't a big step in support of long range BEV use.

    Sorry, no sympathy from me.

I wish I could say any dealers have a clue. They are in a desperate struggle to make a living they have no vision of the future beyond paying their mortgage and payroll.

Maybe gm will ... someday ... build out a DC QC network. Maybe they'll power them substantially by overhead solar. They may even have their own solar, & build their own massive battery manufacturing plant, right here in the U.S ...
oh wait - no one would undertaker such a project.

The article says gm's buying cheep surplus wind. Oh boy ... Go gm
    (rolling eyes)
    With gm's track record (& similar companies) ;

I suppose gm buying wind power when it's cheep & convenient - is better than nothing.

i've never understood the chargers at a dealership thing. that has to be the least convenient place on earth to charge.
and i don't really care whether gm invests in public chargers. probably because i still see bev's as local vehicles.
i'm interested in the vehicles themselves, if people buy tesla's because of the charger network, and it's sustainable, good for them.

Well - at least they're often freeway close. And many keep late hours. Not ideal, but at least that's something.
