    Hi everybody,

I heard a rumor that HV battery ECU's(the computers in the battery packs) are not interchangeable, and they are programmed specifically to mate with the VIN of the prius(or the main ECU). Is there any true to this? Or can you swap full battery pack assemblies on the fly?

I have read of people on here replacing the full HV Battery assembly from a wrecked car. I do not remember any reference to having any issue with doing this.

Hopefully someone that has done this before will correct me if I am wrong.

I'll be finding out in the next day. If no one posts, I'll post the results for science.

You can swap the entire traction battery assembly without a problem.

    Hi lmarcucci,

That is not true, I've replaced just the Battery ECU and not the whole pack in my previous Gen1.
