When buyers were given the option for LFP, the estimate for EPA was about 10 miles lower than the other chemistry.

The Model 3 SR/RWD has always been below 300 miles range. Started around 250 miles, and has been increasing with model year. The long range AWD model was always above 300 miles, starting at 310 in 2019. The 2022 is at 358 miles.

The range on paper between the LFP and other Li-ion is a less than 5% difference. Now LFP can be charged to 100% without issues, so owners can have the full range rating all the time. But that advantage can't be had in the long range model, because there isn't any more room for battery. Those 50 plus miles more range can mean less stops on a trip.
