Are the local groups gone?

I've not been on PriusChat much, but I do recall there used to be local (state, etc) groups at one time. I've searched all over but can't seem to find them. A few links to the groups just send me back to the main forums page. I was just wondering if there's still a NC group somewhere (Triangle/Triad). Alternatively, can anyone recommend a shop(s) in the Triad area that might do customization work (installing body kits and such)? I assume dealers don't get into that kind of thing for liability reasons other than window tint and some smaller things. I've looked online and for numbers but can't seem to locate a good shop, and most people I know don't do anything to their cars. Making local connections doesn't seem very easy in this area -- and PriusChat is (was?) even based in NC!
