I'll believe it when I see it! I caved in and got the prime. Love the card. After incentives it turned out cheaper than my 2010 prius. Bring it on ioniq. Can't wait to see what it has.

We are waiting for the ioniq:

    ESTRAGON:
Charming spot. (He turns, advances to front, halts facing auditorium.) Inspiring prospects. (He turns to Vladimir.) Let's go.
    VLADIMIR:
    We can't.
    ESTRAGON:
    Why not?
    VLADIMIR:
    We're waiting for Godot.
    ESTRAGON:
(despairingly). Ah! (Pause.) You're sure it was here?
    VLADIMIR:
    What?
    ESTRAGON:
    That we were to wait.
    VLADIMIR:
He said by the tree. (They look at the tree.) Do you see any others?
    ESTRAGON:
    What is it?
    VLADIMIR:
    I don't know. A willow.
    ESTRAGON:
    Where are the Leafs?

    This may make you happier.

According to 2016 Toyota Prius Engine Achieves 40% Thermal Efficiency - Gas 2

"Toyota Prius engine achieves 40% thermal efficiency, says a report in Nikkei Technology. Toyota made the announcement at last week’s Spring Conference of the Society of Automotive Engineers in Yokohama, Japan. The engine in the current generation of Prius automobiles is rated at 38.5% efficiency while that in earlier models was rated at 37%, according to Green Car Reports. This small change could represent big MPGs for buyers."

"Even the most miserly gasoline engines are typically about 30% efficient, meaning that only 30% of the energy created by burning gasoline translates into power to more the car forward."

One thing I noticed about the Prime is that the EV power in HV mode is expanded. However, there's no "just right of the EV bar" like the 3rd Gen. Whereas just right of the EV bar on the 3rd gen would yield anything from 50 mpg to 75 mpg I've noticed most of the time just right on the Prime yields 45-50 mpg. Then the engine can shut off within the EV portion. I'm not sure how this approach works but it sure beats when I would accelerate in the 3rd gen and get 30-40mpg, now it's 45-50 mpg as I ramp to 70 mph.

My first post but visited this forum often to find accessories. I live in Northern VA. Couldn't find Magnetic Gray with Black here drove to MD suburbs and got one. I have to say pretty nice upgrade from my 2011 Prius III. I didn't do all the math of gas vs EV ..etc just thought Premium at 29K - $4500 tax deduction is a pretty good deal. It drives way better than 2011 and has a good road feel especially in EV mode. Toyota should have gone with CarPlay but still with Bluetooth streaming and iPhone Plus I don't feel like missing CarPlay much. I ended up cancelling Model 3 booking for now. With 25 miles EV 60-70% of the time you are on EV mode only once a while we may use Gas then you have that luxury of not worry about stopping at all over the places just to charge your car.
I love the new styling the back may need some more tweaking but overall front and side sleek and nice. Love the black interior minus couple white plates. Softex is not as bad as I was worried about.
The dash shows average 107MPG I think it's misleading for VA residents at 0.13 electricity and $2.1 gas. Don't know how to input real values into the system specific to us.
Couldn't get 10 spoke wheels at dealer due to inconvenience of visiting there, will order separately with Conti DWS tires.
Anyway overall very nice past 500 miles.
