I love my prius, but not his much...that said, this contest will be pretty cool if one of our own win it

 

Uh when?

I grew up in Oklahoma and every year, in the first week of August, we had a family reunion in the hottest, driest, weekend of the year and North Alabama is only a little less bad. But I'm just a newbie to the Prius, only since 2005. Still, if you're taking nominations:

1. john1701a - three generations of solid Prius advocacy, a real pioneer and he lives in northern latitudes
2. hobbit - good Prius friend who also lives in northern latitudes
3. Patrick Wong - Arizona . . . well hummmm (maybe it is a dry heat?)
4. FireEngineer - Wayne who has installed so many block heaters
5. Art's Automotive or Lucious Garage - good excuse for a road trip
6. AutoBeYours - another good road trip although some of us might get 'lost' in the yard playing with the inventory

Well Ok, we do have superior BBQ and the Fall weather is nice . . . deer season starts Nov 20 . . .

Excellent! That is a Sunday before Columbus Day, a three day weekend:

• one day up ~700 miles
• Party Day - 10/10/10
• one day back ~700 miles

The Georgetown KY plant has an excellent visitor center with a large meeting room. The visitor center is not open on Sunday but for a 'party' ?? They also make the Camry hybrid there and some other cars. Distances:

• 407 miles - Washington DC
• 764 miles - Boston MA
• 420 miles - Madison WI
• 733 miles - Sioux Falls SD
• 545 miles - Kansas City MO
• 742 miles - Oklahoma City OK
• 783 miles - Dallas TX
• 558 miles - Mobile AL
• 694 miles - Orlando FL

Georgetown KY is central to a whole bunch of Eastern Prius enthusiasts and Judd has been an excellent host.

Hummm, now if there was a West Coast meeting . . . do brunch in Georgetown and fly to California for a happy hour. Kinda of a long day for anyone making both events and nap on the plane (1st class justified.)

Hi Bob,

That is very kind of you. However I'm not in the Facebook generation so I don't qualify to apply.

Further, I'm passionate about understanding Prius technical design and keeping the car running. This is probably not what the party organizers have in mind because the marketing messages are:

1) the Prius ownership experience is like owning any other car except mpg is so much better, so you can feel good and green about driving it, and

2) the car has world-class reliability (mostly true), and is easy / inexpensive to maintain and repair (not so true depending upon your personal circumstances).

 

If Doc Willie decides to enter, we have a clear winner .

 

You know using the GeorgeTown visitor center means a significant cost savings that could be translated into 'door prizes:'

• Most coolest Prius at show (3 winners)
• Longest distance by Prius to party (3 winners)
• Longest distance by any means to party (3 winners)
• Best "Prius" themed desert (aka., we want cake)
• Best Original Prius videos (3 winners)

This could be a hoot, especially if Judd organizes the grillin'. Put tents in the parking lot. Invite the press and even some 'honored guests' (Ray LaHood to come within ear shot of Prius owners?)

Yes, just to clarify. This is about the contest organizers having the info they need to properly run the contest (not allowing duplicate submissions etc) than needing to access your private info. Don't worry, we don't intend to share what book you read last week!

First of all, I didn't know there was a Facebook generation. Last time I checked, everyone from my baby cousin to my grandfather was on it except those holding out from getting engrossed in yet another social networking site. Feel free to pass, but signing up would be rather easy and who knows, you might just win Patrick!

Also, passion comes in different forms and we haven't stated exactly what we have in mind, so I definitely encourage all of you to apply!

I'm with Patrick on this one. I wouldn't even know how to sign up for Facebook. But I can install an engine block heater in the dark. Go figure.

I'm a pretty passionate Prius owner/driver... but I may not be the kind of passionate that they are looking for...

I have been trying to start a Facebook account for my Prius, though... the system won't let me use the name "Dalmatian Prius".

I'm very EXPRESSIVE, though. I just might be the MOST expressive Prius owner there is

 

I decided not to participate because I am not the type that like to host parties.

 

I refuse to use facebook because I dont want to support a site that does not respect peoples privacy.

 

Maybe this shows a generation gap, but I thought the whole idea behind Facebook was that it was (primarily) intended for young people who didn't care (that much) about maintaining their personal privacy.
