The other night in 100ft visibility fog, I couldn't see a thing, the green bar was blinding me and the dash dimmer wasn't working. My son pulled out the Prius owner's manual and dropped in over the display projector. Total black out! It fits perfectly! So in a pinch...

I experimented with trying to cover the source of the offending reflection (coming from the projector in the dash) with thin strips of rubber - with no success. However, I finally solved the problem (with the horizontal method):

Find a piece of rubber / foam. It has to be thin, matt and similar to the colour of the dash surrounding the projector aperture (to prevent a daytime reflection). It should not be too flexible - it has to overhang the dash / projector aperture, but will be supported at either end. If it is too thick the reflection of a shadow created by the edge will be visible. So the thinner the better.

Cut it to size 18cm minimum x 6 cm.

Place it on the dash and slide it forward over the projector aperture so that about 3cm overhangs the aperture. 18cm is a bit wider than the aperture, so the sides of the rubber / foam will be supported. You can position it exactly so that the reflection on the windscreen is obscured, but not the display itself.

I secured it with a few bits of blue tack, but for a more permanent fix, mark, then secure in position with double sided tape.
