Iv heard here in Ca. the turbines sense wind direction and can turn to face the wind, to a degree, when you see some turning and others not, computers could be running the whole operation in a attempt to meet current demand. There is also a gearing system that changes this large slow moving propeller to feed a very efficient generator at a needed output speed. This could also be computer controlled. It’s a rare day when none of the propellers are turning.

Whatever happened to Ross Perot plans with Wind Turbines in Texas. He’s the only politician I’ve seen that
actually had some practical ideas on Energy use. ( prob because he’s not a politician. )

It would be rather difficult these days to ask Ross what happened to those plans.

Which winery were you at? The vaulted barrel room reminds me of Castello di Amarosa but if memory serves me correctly, the ceilings are much higher. My spouse and I have an extensive collection of wines, including some from Napa and Sonoma wineries. My personal favorite is Cliff Lede Vineyards in Yountville.

The winery we were at was Nickel and Nickel in Oakville:).

Never been to Cliff Lede, but we’ve been to more than our fair share of wineries and vineyards ;).

Castello di Amarosa is a nice tour, but the wine is meh. We did get some Barbera while we were there though.

Wine is our vice in life(y).

The winery is small, but has a beautiful arts & crafts-style tasting room. Cliff Lede is a big classic rock fan, so his vineyards are named after classic rock songs, like All Along The Watchtower, Purple Haze, etc. They produce a cab called Rock Block, which is made from the best rows of grapes in the vineyards. The label is a Marshall amp stack and the name of the wine is an amalgam of the vineyards the grapes are from. The latest release is 2016 and is called Soul Fire, from "Light My Fire" and "Heart Full of Soul".

We've got about 52 cases right now, had to cancel all our memberships because we physically ran out of space to store bottles.
