Have always noticed the defrost icon displayed on my controls when starting in this single digit temps, but strangely it'll come on at times when I'm just driving down the road. Just curious what triggers this. Is there a "humidity sensor" in this system?

Laugh, at this but I swear it's true. I also notice it will come on each time I cross the bridge back into town. Sounds weird I know, but once I cross that bridge into town - the defrost icon shows up. Obviously this doesn't happen when running the controls manually. Only in "auto" mode and only since these temps have been so low.

Can't wait for the warmer weather. Have used an entire tank of gas in a single week and can't get my mpg's above 40.

Anyways, thanks for any info. Just a curiosity.

Yes. But it may just be a differential between inside and outside temps.
And much more likely to be triggered if you run in RECirculate mode all the time.
