As I said in post 13 we will never work out Toyota's thinking on what accessories/options go on which vehicles in which countries and why, because there is no logic.

For what you guys pay for a Prius over there though, you should get quite more. Rain sensing wipers and giving manual leveling adjustment of halogen headlights are things you do get for that extra money we do not here. At least you did find out they gave the ability to dim or brighten the dash lights, that would have just been odd to not include in any country.

On Gen III, the dashboard brightness is adjusted in 3 steps by pressing the button with a speedo symbol next to the clock adjustment buttons.
So on the Gen II look for a button, not a knob.

My Citroen C5 has auto everything. The wipers will switch on the headlamps and redirect the A/C to the windscreen if set to Auto. Hazard lights will flash on sudden, heavy braking or if the airbags fire. Ride height will automatically increase on rough roads and decrease at 110km/h. Shame the automatic transmission uses random numbers to select gears.

It would be nice if the Prius A/C would consider the windscreen in its Auto program on wipers or when the outside temperature is low.
