just stumbled across a 2019 prius AWD-e with the technology package and massive (Tesla style) touch screen. It was my understanding this would not be offered in the AWD models but it looks like that only applies in the states. The ones I’ve found are in Canada. Any input on this from others?

Search it up on Toyota USA vs Toyota Canada websites. I think you're right btw.

The AWD in US is only available with the smaller screen, no navigation, no JBL, no satellite radio, no moon roof and a manual driver's seat.

Here's the 2019 Canadian Prius brochure, and yeah: both regular and AWD versions have regular and "tech" levels, the lattery having the larger screen.

I wonder why they have so many differences between US and Canada.

My thoughts exactly. You would think it would be most cost efficient to offer the same thing everywhere. On top of that, why hurt potential US sales by omitting sought after things such as a massive touch screen, moon roof, JBL, power seats, etc. Sometimes I can't help but scratch my head with these big corporations.

At least yours are more similar than we get in Australia, where they delete quite a lot of things available in both CA & US.

Yeah but then you get some stuff we don't like power folding mirrors and dynamic gridlines. I really wonder if a truly fully loaded Prius exists anywhere in the world.

You just have to make your own. On my 2016 Four, I have added fog lights which only came on the touring model. And I added power folding mirrors which aren’t available on any model in the US.

Do you have AutoPark? When I quizzed TOYOTA Aust about it (and parking sensors), they replied along the line "Yes, it's got a reversing camera" - I asked twice. Duh!!

I'd like to see spare tire and 3 door touch unlock/lock. Not an option any where in North America.

Full Size spare. Only available in the Middle East for some reason.

Was reading a road test of, I think the VOLVO XC-40 which came with a pretend spare. The road tester had a flat tyre, and was pleasantly surprised that the broken wheel/tyre would fit in the space allocated to the pretend. So - there was NO excuse for not putting a proper spare there - just trying to save a few €€s.

According to the 2020 brochure the XLE and Limited trims in the US have 3 door touch lock/unlock.

Pardon me if someone else has already pointed this out, but:
The answer to the question in the title of this thread is YES.

The Advanced Technology Package is available with AWD, in the U.S. In the XLE trim level.
However, the massive Tesla-style touch screen is not available with AWD in the U.S. That touch screen is not part of the Advanced Technology Package.

The Advanced Technology Package (it seems we've gotten this far without defining it) comprises (a) auto-leveling headlights, and (b) color head-up display.

Assuming it hasn't changed since 2019, what the XLE and Limited trims in the U.S. have is more like 2 1/2 door touch lock/unlock.
The driver and passenger doors have touch lock/unlock.
The rear hatch has touch unlock, but not lock.

    And no spare.

I looked up the 2020 Owner's Manual: page 187 says the Smart Key function on hatch is per usual, lock or unlock. I can't see them deleting that.

Still, my beef is that you can't get smart key and a spare. Toyota actually tries to sell the tire inflation kit as an "upgrade", which is a little humorous.

And then in the AWD itterations, Toyota engineering at it's finest:

Same in the 2019 owner's manual.

But what they mean is that you can lock all 3 doors by pressing the lock button on the key fob.

When I think of "smart key", I think of when you keep the key fob in your pocket. (If "smart key" includes pressing the buttons on the key fob, then what would you call the much more fun/interesting feature of keeping the key fob in your pocket?)

And, if the key fob is in your pocket, then you can lock and unlock the driver and passenger doors, but only unlock the rear hatch.

Are you sure? This 2020 manual excerpt shows the rear hatch button for locking (Button #1). Looks just like our 2010 btw.

Mendel, I’m surprised. You’ve never mentioned the lack of a spare on this forum...
