My ac is not working techstream gave me the the code : B1423 Open in Pressure Sensor Circuit/ Abnormal Refigerant Pressure.
the regulator pressure sensor is reading -0.0006MPa , if I remove the pressure sensor plug on the high pressure line the reading changes to 3.1....MPa
Refrigerant sees to be filled as I checked it with a gauge.
The compressor is not coming on because of I guess the low reading to protect itself.

Another Prius c which is working fine is showing this value as 0.6319MPa
Can any one can help me sort this problem out.

Clear, but you can see the fluid

How did you check the pressure with the gauge and what was the reading? By removing the plug you got a different reading, which should indicate the sensor is working.

    Some questions:
    • Any recent damage or impacts?
    • How long has this problems been there?
    • Are all connections tight?
    • Any recent maintenance performed where something or someone disturbed something?
    Keep us posted (y).

    Pressure checked with the gauge

Come to think of it, if the compressor will not run, it'd be pretty hard to tell what's going on. It might even be empty, though I doubt it in your case, you're reading pressure.

Reading :was done by the ac tech and he said it was good/ normal showed no sign of loss in pressure he even took some gas out and replaced the pressure was 100 Psi
    No damage
    About 1 week
All connection tight I even removed the compressor connection, no dirt, rust, or corrosion
No recent maintenance, no one disturbed any thing.

The condenser is clean and no or little dirt is present? If your Prius sits for awhile, does the compressor start?

The pressure in the system is still 100 psi? Have you cleaned out the condenser drain recently?

If all wiring connections are tight and secure and all the simple checks are done, I’d spend $15 and log into toyota tech info and research the B1423 code as well as any additional information related to the ac system.

$15 will buy 2 days into the repair manual there. That’s the best info available.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Since the compressor isn't coming on, y not check the AC system fuse. The fuse is I guess located in the converter assembly when you open it up.

The fuse is kind of like a long cylindrical shaped glass with something like sand in it.

If you have gas, the system should keep in. Did you use a manifold gauge to look at the pressure too?

If after all that, and you still don't get the system working, I really don't think you have enough gas in there. Is your AC tech knowledgeable about high voltage AC system?

Ray it may be best to really purchase for tech info.
Dxta I did not check that fuse. And my ac guy did use manifold gauge.
We are learning this Hybrid technology as we go.
But I would sure like to solve the problem on my own because I am that type of person who's not interested in giving up.

Hi All - We resolved the problem today it was a bad Pressure Sensor.
I change it and now it is working fine.

Yeah jeez. Sounds like your "guy" is pretty special. A/C is A/C work on most cars with R-134. Pressures at 100 psi, would that be static or dynamic? Plus you guys could have checked by jumping the terminals and the A/C would have run and problem solved in 5 min.

No. Condenser drain wouldnt affect compressor.

No. Dont ever tell someone to open up the converter for a "fuse". Keep it simple. Jeez. Its an A/C system with different oil and different way of actuating compressor, not some jet engine that is mystifying qualities.
