Back up camera, HUD.

    Hi all. I bought a2018 Prius Three. 1 month ago. (I just read the front camera iusse I had that problem too). Is there a easy to adjust the HUD sensor on the front windshield as it is too low to use for me or my husband. Second. The rear camera. It is a rectangle with no direction lights. Is this correct for all Prius'? And is it suppose to pick up your license plate in the camera or is it misaligned? Appreciate any input.

    You can adjust the position of the HUD - see page 148 of the Owner Manual.

    You can configure the rear camera to include/exclude marking lines - maybe yours has be been setup to not display them. You can change the setting yourself.

    No, the camera should not show the license plate - sounds like it got a knock and is out of alignment.

    Actually, for a reversing camera with moving guidelines, @FingerLakePrius - you'll have to change country - it seems it isn't offered in USA. But then, TOYOTA doesn't give us AutoPark in Australia, nor can we get a FullSize spare wheel like @booke02 in Israel gets.

    BUT - yes the Camera will show your licence plate - at least the back bumper (between the 2 red Xs):

    The Manual shows the same - the indication of the bumper means that you're almost about to hit the object in view.

    If you can't work out the HUD adjustment, ask your salesperson to help - they should have adjusted it for you.

    Still never found out why our 2016 4 backup lines are fixed and dont show direction of travel.

    You are right - The European lines are not fixed. The lines in my Avalon are not fixed. Seems like it would be easy to upgrade. Don't know why Toyota chose to have it this way...

    The point is that the ability to have moving lines is readily available. Yes, my Avalon is a luxury vehicle (and a 40 MPG hybrid too).

    Because you live in USA. TOYOTA decided to give you knobs on your radio - and give us moving lines to compensate for no knobs. You also get a button to adjust dashboard brightness - we have to dig through menus. And we don't have the option of self-parking like you do.

    Odd.

    Mine (UK) has the moving back up lines and an option in vehicle settings to change to fixed if preferred (who would want that ?)
