:idea: I am happy to report that in recent years, more and more Texas drivers ARE using turn signals to turn AND to change lanes. In addition, more drivers seem to be honoring the polite "request" for a lane change - as if the signal says "I need to change a lane, would you please allow a little room?" There are of course exceptions which seem related to the "macho" of the other drivers, noted more in SUVs, Hummers and some "muscle" cars.

As for myself, I have such a signalling habit that I even signal a turn into my residential street driveway at night with no one within blocks. Some habits are good.
