I tried to start my 2015 Prius. All the lights on the dash and the multifunction display started flashing, messages appeared and disappeared faster than I could read them, the engine started clicking and moaning, and the headlights flashed like strobes. Then suddenly, it all stopped except for a moaning sound under the hood, and it wouldn't start. AAA jump-started it. Toyota service replaced the original 7 year-old battery. But the multi-function display is still dead and they can't fix it and can't tell me why it died. They offered to order and install a refurbished one for $2000+ or suggested to go to Best Buy.
Also, I'm not happy with their level of knowledge or the fact that they initially told me the car was ready to pick up, but had not addressed the dead display, which I discovered when I started to drive away, then left it overnight again!
Is there more expert Toyota service advice available from Toyota somewhere online than what I'm experiencing from my local dealer?

There are a LOT of Toyota dealers in Florida.
I suggest that you try another one.

BUT.....all kinds of parts are in short supply right now.
Are you sure that they didn't really say that new ones are "on back order" or similar ??

They said a new one is over $5000, so they would be looking for a refurbished one, assuming that no one would pay that much, which was a correct assumption in my case.

I don't see any mention of them working on Priuses or hybrids.

bisco, never mind that reply about no mention of them working on Priuses. It wasn't our link. It was an ad that showed up on my iphone under your reply Your link goes to a place in Texas. I'm in Florida.

There is a man in Tampa that is a Prius specialist... I can't think of his name of the top of my head.
Someone will probably chime in and give it. But if you do a search for Prius in the Tampa area it will
    pop up...
