Battery cooling behavior in very hot weather

    I have a 2026 Prime SE and when I get home on a very hot day (105-110 °F) it will continue running the A/C compressor and radiator fan after I put it in park and turn off the A/C (I always shut off the compressor and run the vent fan for a few minutes to dry out the evaporator). This is new behavior and I have only noticed it doing it once it's gotten very hot in August.

    I have mechanical sympathy for vehicles and clearly it wants to cool itself down, so let it "idle" with then engine off (and compressor buzzing + engine fan on) for 5 minutes the first time it did it and for 10 minutes the second time, but eventually I gave up and turned it off. It is dumping a decent amount of heat from the condenser during this time.

    What is interesting is that the underhood fan speed will rise in sync with the setting of the cabin A/C fan speed, like if the fan is on low, the engine fan is low... but if I max the vent fan speed, the engine fan cranks up to full speed and the compressor gets louder. The A/C button light is off.

    While it is doing this, only the small refrigerant line is cold (cabin A/C button is off and the vents are blowing hot ambient air) and after some time, the small line ices up. Large lines are not cold at all.

    Historically an iced-up line has always meant something like low refrigerant, orifice problem or clogged filter. Is this normal behavior for this car? I have also noticed that while the A/C is very cold on <90 °F days, it seems much less effective on hotter days, I assume because a portion of the refrigerant is being diverted to the battery?
