Battery issues

I have a funny feeling it is the later.... :|

 

I also had all the warning lights come on, while on vacation. The car seemed to run OK for a bit and then would only creep. I pulled off and went through the screens and saw only one bar on the SOC. Restarted and it ran fine with only the red triangle and check engine lights.

I called the 800 number and they suggested driving to the nearest dealer (about 40 miles away). The next morning I called the dealer and powered up with only the check engine light. When we left to drive to the dealer there were no warning lights. They pulled the codes and performed TSB EG047-04. As I requested they gave me documentation of the codes and the TSB they did for me to take back to my dealer. I also pulled the full EG047-04 document from the tech info site.

This TSB applies to all 2004 Prii and states, "The information contained in this TSB supercedes TSB No. EG027–04. TSB No. EG027–04 is now obsolete and should be discarded."

 

That sounds scary. Would you post that text?

 

I just scrounged it out myself: TSB EG047-04 Link It is 12 individual HTML pages.

It was issued Oct 18th. Sort of makes me nervous since I haven't seen anything to suggest how many cars are affected, if there is any narrowing of cases by mileage or VIN or whatever.

 

I had had the TSB EG027 done (car died) and just had the EG047 update done by the dealer. Will pick up today.

its divided into 12 pages as each prints perfectly to standard paper. iow, none of this single line print on page 2 stuff.
