I own a 2010 Prius, also a 2006. I've just purchased a ScanGauge II. It has a number of "X-gauges" addressing battery measurements; can anyone tell me if any of these are useful to estimate battery life span?

    welcome!
unfortunately no. measuring battery life remaining is about as easy as measuring human life remaining.

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

    Some questions:

    • How many miles on each?
    • Do either of them sit for an extended period of time?
    • How many annual miles does each get driven?
    • Do you have the HSI screen up to watch how the battery performs?
Good luck and keep us posted (y).

Years matter more than miles in my opinion. (In fact too few miles is bad thing, the battery like to be charged frequently. Taxis often do 400,000 miles as they never turn off)

I predict 12 years on average. Gen 1 had corrosion issues and so does not do as well as Gen 2 and 3.
