My old 12V battery used to get dangerously low in general driving and usage.

Last week got a new 12V battery when the old one died, but looking at the 'Info' display it still seems to get down to 1 or 2 bars in general driving and usage.

    Is this normal?
If not, what might be causing it?

Those bars have nothing to do with your 12v battery. The bars show the charge of the big HV battery.

How many miles on it? Could be the hybrid battery (the one the display shows the state of) is going.

Those bars are for your traction/hybrid battery. And yours is cycling deeper than most, but still in the realm of normalcy. As they age, they cycle more and more. But even a brand new battery with aggressive driving will cycle down to 1 bar on the display.

He’s in London. His traction battery is the least of his problems.

Happens all over SoCal and the Tri-State area too. It's not a local-to-London problem unfortunately. It's better in London because there is CCTV everywhere which is a good deterrent. There is no such harmonized system anywhere in the US used for this type of policing so the criminals in the US have free reign. Even if a property owner had the crime on video, that would bring them into any potential claims even if only as a witness and most just as standard have a "I see nothing" policy.

Your cat gets stolen in California and your car might be totaled. The only approved cat here is the $$$ Toyota $$$.

Although it’s currently 1,620 for the full front exhaust so I guess insurance would cover it.

judging by the threads here, i'd say london is much worse. i haven't read any posts claiming that cctv helps at all.

you're probably fine for now, but keep an eye on the meter. the quicker it fluctuates, the weaker your hybrid battery is getting.
keep an eye on your mpg's at every fill up as well.
