Did you use a small torque wrench to properly tighten the nuts? The experts here say that is critical too.

Yes I bought one from harbor freight over tightening the nuts will cause issues. The numbers from techstream look good but to truly test the 12volt you need to have a reader that can load test it properly bc a bad 12volt will cause all sorts of issues. It shows yours last test was only at 11volts so I'd definitely check it under load

Also are you testing everything with the car in the READY state? If you want to load test your 12 volt without removing it look at its voltage with everything off then cycle your headlights on then watch that number. Or you can go to live test and cycle through stuff like turning the electric fans on and off and check the load voltage.

No I did not use a torque wrench. I have not seen a small one at harbor freight. Can you link one and what spec are they torqued to?

As for the 12 volt I have taken it orielly and they put their battery toy on it to load test and claims it's fine. But I'll buy a new one to make this headache go away if there are concerns it's jacking things around on me.

    Thanks

Just brought 12v to AutoZone for load testing. It passed at 12.85v

I'll hit harbor freight tonight and I can go that road on the battery posts If you think that will help.

Any other thoughts from my techstream info or any other tests I should try?

    Thanks

Did you test the car in ready mode? And watch the live battery numbers to see if you had any major fluctuations in the cells?

Delta SOC that stands for Difference in State Of Charge. Measured in percentage right?
The Prius has two banks of battery cell pairs 2x7 right? The Hybrid ecu tracks how many electrons are pushed into and taken out of these two banks. When the performance between the two banks is 20% different a Diagnostic Trouble Code results. I think this is a smart way of preventing fires as anytime one bank underperformed the other heat is the result of increased resistance to charging. Agreed?

Explain this. Car was at 2 bars when i stopped. Drive uphill just a few min from work.

Thought for sure it was going to pop a code.

First 2 pics are right as I started the car.

Second 2 are after it shut down the engine.

Am I fighting something else wrong in the car?

So while hitting the drivethru after car had been on mostly battery thru town it tossed the hybrid battery code. I grabbed the freeze frame. Can someone help decipher this and maybe it will help point to my issue?

    Thanks! IMG_20191004_151645.jpeg IMG_20191004_151636.jpeg IMG_20191004_151627.jpeg IMG_20191004_151620.jpeg IMG_20191004_151611.jpeg IMG_20191004_151602.jpeg IMG_20191004_151551.jpeg IMG_20191004_151543.jpeg

    Battery Block 14 is bad...………...and 3 may be a future problem...….

This says it all, but you can also see it in the video, how Block 14 changes significantly more than the others when being charged.

If you want a visual on what your battery is doing look at this thread post #5.
Just Another HV Battery Thread and Experiments | PriusChat

Everything acts normal up until you reach the end of capacity of the one weak module. Then that module falls off a cliff. If you stay above that cutoff point, it's almost impossible to notice there's a problem.

Paul, I think you misunderstand the construction of the battery. It's 28 modules, connected in series. Imagine it being a 28 D cell battery flashlight. The 28 cells are touching -+-+-+-+ etc. Connect the end (-) and (+) to a light bulb. Then, you move cells 19 and 20 apart slightly and install a switch. That's how the battery is wired., except its really 168 individual 1.2v cells

Thanks everyone!!! Now I got a direction. I knew if I kept gathering data we'd get there. Anyone have a suggestion other than eBay for getting 4 cells to replace my bad ones? Don't want to be doing this a 3rd time.

    Thanks!!

Wish I could just get a new battery. Rebuilding is my only option at this time. I received replacement batteries from @TMR-JWAP

Thanks again for getting those out asap to me. I have replaced them all. I'm bolting back my battery pack now and will put on the prolong charger to Balance charge tonight and hopefully tomorrow I'll be back on the road.

Thanks again for all the help!
