Use what you have. I was hoping for a regular 12V charger but use what you've got. Just take lab notes!

Resurrection of discharge NiMH Prius modules is very advanced. You are at the bleeding edge so take good notes.

BTW, there is no guarantee of success but not trying guarantees failure.

A new 12 volt automotive battery charger is on my list. I figured the Reaktor charger was more important at this point.

Do you have a motorcycle mode on your charger? Once a month I charge my spares on my C-tek 3300 at motorcycle mode and it will stay below 9 volts over night and no over heating from the cells. I like my C-tek because it has a maintenance cycle to help de-sulfate the battery.

With the charger on the way you can do them in stacks safely. Just keep an eye on the temperature.

    No motorcycle mode, unfortunately.

Ah poop, okay, well you got the Reaktor on it's way so you are headed in the right path. That is awesome news about the seller of the donor.

    Very unusual these days.

Just please be safe and use common sense Brother. High Voltage is not your friend :-(

A 12V automotive charger is not going to match what your Reaktor might do. Which model Reaktor?

The reason I ask is the User's Manual may be online and give us insights to how to use it most effectively. Don't spend money on a 12V auto charger until we understand what you've got.

It will be important to use the temperature probe when charging the NiMH modules as they have a rapid temperature climb when full. To recover modules, you'll need to set a time and temperature limit for each module.

Some chargers have the dV/dt sensor and can detect the voltage drop just before the temperature rises. My experience is our 6-cell, NiMH modules do it right, the first time. But subsequent cycles have to be 'charge limited.'

Good choice and much better than an automotive grade charger.

    Hi everybody,
I just renovated a HV battery from prius1,
    I used a charger / discharger NIMH for 2 to 10 elements 1.2Volts
I reloaded them one by one in steps of 0.3Volts from 7.7Volts initial to 8.3volts final
    Voltage after 24 hours = 8,10 Volts smoothed on the 38 elements, load = +/- 60%?

The vehicle rolls today without any problem
but I would like to use an application to monitor its functioning,
if I can be useful in your approach to decrypt the info of the Prius1

I use a blue tooth OBDII scanner and the torque app on my phone. You can watch all the battery module banks and data log with it.

    Merci
