For it's class it's very high quality, IMO. It has tons of features that some other models just don't have in its class, like a standard MFD, for example (even some luxury cars seem to lack this one) and electric power steering vice engine-driven power steering.

Besides, it's cool knowing that I'm doing my part to save the environment by reducing my consumption of petroleum.

    1. We already had a Nissan 4x4 truck (yes, we need it for kayaking and historical pursuits) and a Honda Element (yes, we need it for bicycle racing events and long road trips) and we needed a 4dr sedan to escort our 80+ year old mothers around in, shop with, short road trips, etc.

    2. We have a "green" homestead and we recycle so the Prius fits nicely with that.

    3. We were eligible for the full $3150 tax credit.

    4. I like all things high tech.

    5. It simply seemed like the right thing to do.

I think it was simply the mpg that motivated us. The "runner up" in consideration was $8000 less, the Nissan Versa. Roominess inside was a big factor as well as we have 4 in our family, all tall.
